Rivian Plans to Add AI Products From Other Companies to Its Cars
Its current voice assistant could access Google Calendar by May 2026. Rivian has not announced a rollout date for the planned additions.

Rivian plans to bring products from other AI companies into its vehicles, expanding an in-car assistant that handles spoken requests while keeping AI agents away from driving controls.
The next step is expected to include products from frontier AI companies such as Anthropic. Rivian has not announced when they will be available. Integrating them will require technical coordination between the automaker and AI companies.
Rivian’s existing assistant directs voice requests to the relevant vehicle software. It can use a model running in the car or cloud-based models, depending on the request. By May 2026, the assistant could also connect with services such as Google Calendar.
The proposed agents would not steer or brake, or take control of other vehicle functions. One possible use would let a driver continue in the car a conversation started on another device, such as discussing what to make for a meal.
Rivian has pointed to its December AI & Autonomy Day for more information.
