FLUX 3 Klein Ties Output Rights Under $5M Gross Annualized Revenue, Affiliates Included
The revenue test combines a user’s income with its affiliates’ and covers commercial use of generated images plus production use to create them.

Black Forest Labs released FLUX 3 Image Klein on Oct. 15, making downloadable weights available for image generation and editing under a commercial license tied to users’ revenue across affiliated entities.
An individual or entity qualifies if its gross annualized revenue, combined with revenue from affiliates, is less than $5 million. Qualifying users may use generated images commercially and run the model in production to create those images. The commercial grant covers those outputs and the production use needed to make them; it does not provide unrestricted commercial rights to every use of the model, including fine-tuning.
Users must either maintain filters designed to prevent unlawful, unsafe or infringing content, or review outputs for unlawful or infringing material before distributing them. AI generation must be disclosed when applicable law requires it.
The downloadable weights allow local operation, while the license defines which commercial uses are permitted. Organizations above the revenue threshold can pursue a separate commercial license for self-hosting or use the hosted API.
The model’s image transformer has 5.6 billion parameters. Its text encoder is separate and is not part of that count. The model takes text prompts, edits existing images and supports up to 10 reference images. Native 4K generation and bounding-box controls for placing elements in an image are also available.
The downloads include base and distilled versions, along with FP8, INT8 and NVFP4 builds. The 8 GB video-memory figure applies specifically to the INT8 build running on NVIDIA GeForce RTX hardware.
Hosted API pricing starts at $0.009 per 1K image. Larger organizations can use the API or pursue a separate license for commercial self-hosting.
