Ethereum has scheduled Glamsterdam’s Hoodi testnet activation for Oct. 26, when its gas limit will rise to 200 million, advancing testing while no mainnet date is set.

The fork is set for 1:42:48 p.m. ET (17:42:48 UTC), at epoch 132,352 and slot 4,235,264. Hoodi’s limit will match Sepolia’s, which activated Glamsterdam on Oct. 6. The Oct. 6 Sepolia fork marked an earlier public-testnet step in the rollout.

Glamsterdam pairs Amsterdam, an execution-layer upgrade, with Gloas, a consensus-layer upgrade. Its headline changes include enshrined proposer-builder separation, which places the builder-proposer workflow inside Ethereum’s consensus protocol, and block-level access lists, which record the accounts and storage locations used in a block. The design aims to increase capacity while keeping block verification practical for node operators.

Hoodi node operators need to update both execution-layer and consensus-layer clients before the fork. The Oct. 26 schedule applies to the testnet; a mainnet activation date has not been decided.
