OpenAI added parallel agents to GPT-6 Pro on Oct. 16, letting eligible ChatGPT Pro users split a request across agents, track their progress and review completed work.

The feature is rolling out to eligible Pro accounts. In managed workspaces, availability depends on rollout eligibility and workspace settings. The update is designed to speed responses and improve plugin and tool use.

A separate Codex and ChatGPT Work update appeared Oct. 17. Subagents can reuse context, cached context remains available longer, and request routing is adjusted to increase cache hit rates. The changes are intended to increase effective usage across the two products.

ChatGPT is also rolling out an iPhone Home Screen widget for users with dot access. The widget opens a dot conversation and can provide message and call controls.
