Aptos Burns 174,195 Tokens in 30 Days as Staking Adds More

Monthly staking emissions for Aptos (APT) are about 1.5 million tokens, compared with roughly 174,200 APT in fee burns, leaving net new supply at 1.4 million.

Aptos (APT) burned 174,195 tokens over the latest 30-day period, but monthly staking rewards of about 1.5 million APT leave the network adding roughly 1.4 million tokens to supply.

Cumulative burns reached 1.9 million APT since the mainnet launched in October 2022. The annualized burn estimate is 2.1 million APT. Current monthly figures put fee burns at about 174,200 APT, rounded, against gross staking emissions of 1.5 million APT. The annual staking reward rate is 2.6%.

Aptos increased gas costs and storage fees 10-fold on March 19 through governance proposal No. 185. The network also has a 2.1 billion APT supply cap, established through proposal No. 183 on March 9. Minting above the ceiling requires further governance approval; the cap does not halt issuance below that level.

The fee rules treat different charges differently. Execution and I/O gas is permanently burned. Storage fees may be refunded when storage is deleted, and the refunded amount is minted again, so not every fee payment represents a permanent reduction in supply.

The current staking rate and supply ceiling are part of the staking-rate and supply-cap plan.
