Lido contributors have outlined a collateral-assisted withdrawal mechanism for proposed Lido Lend, adding a potential liquidity backstop while the project awaits a Lido DAO governance vote.

On Oct. 16, proposal author Izzy outlined “Fallback Exits,” which would use borrower collateral to supplement a lender’s withdrawal when a market lacks enough of the loan asset. The proposed feature remains subject to governance approval of its specifications.

Built on a modified fork of Morpho Blue, Lido Lend is designed as a decentralized lending market with isolated markets and deposit screening. Its design aims to give lenders exit options when a market is fully utilized or faces liquidity stress. The feature adds detail to Lido’s earlier plan for a specialized Morpho Blue-based lending market.

Lido contributors posted the initial proposal on Oct. 7, a day before the Ethereum Ecosystem Summit in Singapore during TOKEN2049. The summit ran from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. ET (0600–1000 UTC). Its agenda included sessions on institutional Ethereum infrastructure, stablecoin payments, tokenization and agentic payments, as well as a fireside chat with Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin and Sharplink CEO Joseph Chalom.

Technical specifications, market parameters and audit reports were scheduled for publication before the relevant votes. Lido DAO approval through a governance vote remains pending.
