SecuX Users Report Access Problems as Ripple CTO Flags Phishing Alert
David “JoelKatz” Schwartz said an Android app alert linked to a page requesting a 12- or 24-word recovery phrase.

SecuX users continued to report wallet access problems on Oct. 17, one day after the hardware wallet maker said its app service had recovered following emergency maintenance. Ripple CTO David “JoelKatz” Schwartz also described an alert from SecuX’s Android app as a scam.
Schwartz said clicking the alert opened a phishing page that asked visitors to enter a 12- or 24-word recovery phrase.
SecuX announced a major system upgrade and emergency maintenance for its app on Oct. 16. Later that day, it said normal operations had resumed. Multiple users still reported being unable to access their wallets on Oct. 17, showing that the announced restoration had not resolved every reported access problem.
SecuX did not disclose what caused the incident. It reiterated that it would never ask users to provide recovery phrases, the information Schwartz said the linked page requested. Access complaints concerned the app service, while Schwartz’s warning specifically involved the Android version.
