A task-scam operator lost more than 60 Bitcoin (BTC), worth about $4.8 million, when thieves emptied three Ledger addresses holding the proceeds during the October wallet theft.

The funds were moved into the three addresses on Sept. 22. On Oct. 9, each address was emptied in one transfer, with all three transfers going to the same wallet.

The task scam paid people to post fake sales and reviews for real products. A negative balance later appeared, and victims were told to add their own money to receive payment.

The loss adds a new detail to TokenPost’s coverage of the Ledger wallet theft, which involved devices distributed by Malaysia-based reseller CryptoBilis.
