Meta linked the mistaken suspension of a U.S. No Kings organization’s Instagram account to heavy activity from tools used with Anthropic’s Claude.
Meta said the tools accessed Instagram profiles, posts and hashtags at about four times the normal rate, triggering an automated security system. An automated review restored the account about an hour later, while administrators regained management access after a longer delay.
Meta apologized for the error. It did not identify the specific tool or its operator, or explain whether either was connected to No Kings.
