World Pitches Financial Firms on Human-Verification Tools
World ID for Zoom is generally available after a limited beta that began in April. Four design partners are exploring possible financial-services uses.

World is pitching banks and other financial firms on a three-part identity package that pairs human checks for Zoom calls with credentials users can delegate to AI agents to counter deepfakes and impersonation.
World co-founder Alex Blania introduced the package, called World ID for banking and finance, at Money20/20 in Las Vegas, which runs Oct. 18-21. The package marks World ID’s first focus on a single industry.
The bundle includes the World ID app, where users store and present credentials called Proofs; World ID for Zoom, which checks whether a person on a video call is the verified human; and World ID for Agents, which lets users delegate their credentials to an AI agent. The agent tool began as AgentKit, launched with Coinbase in March and expanded in June.
World ID for Zoom became generally available after a limited beta that began in April. During a check, the system compares the image captured when a user first verified at World’s Orb device with a live selfie and the meeting video. Any participant can request a check during the call. VanEck tested the Zoom check during the beta.
World named OpenExchange, Bain Capital, VanEck Funds and Outtake as design partners exploring potential uses in banking and financial services. No bank was identified as a customer, and the announcement gave no pricing or rollout timeline.
The World ID app is available in more than 150 countries, where users can manage and present Proofs; details are in the World ID app’s rollout in more than 150 countries. More than 18 million people hold its Proof of Human credential. In September, it opened ProveKit, a toolkit for developers to verify facts about a person from a phone without receiving the underlying document.
World plans to continue presenting its technology to enterprise audiences, including at Zoomtopia, whose virtual conference opens Oct. 20.
