JPMorgan is extending JPM Coin, its deposit token for institutional customers, to Ethereum’s mainnet, expanding the token’s reach as a tool for round-the-clock fund transfers. JPM Coin supports institutions sending and receiving funds at any time, including beyond standard banking hours.

That operating window contrasts with conventional transfers, which are limited to business hours and can take several days to settle. The expansion brings this deposit-token service onto Ethereum, while its stated customer base remains institutional.

For clients, the core function is moving funds when business-hour processes are unavailable or still pending settlement. JPM Coin is an option for continuous sending and receiving, rather than a process confined to standard operating times. The expansion concerns Ethereum mainnet access for the same institutional use case, with round-the-clock transfers at the center of the service. A transfer can be initiated at any hour through JPM Coin, while conventional settlement may depend on business-hour processing and take days.
