Echo Protocol plans a staged shutdown, halting new activity across its products and setting a Nov. 19 deadline for users to withdraw, repay debts or unstake.

Echo Protocol is an Aptos-based Bitcoin (BTC) finance protocol. It has closed its core services to new capital. Its lending service no longer accepts deposits or new loans and has stopped interest accrual; strategy and liquid-staking products have also halted new deposits and staking. The shutdown spans lending, strategy and liquid-staking services in Aptos' Bitcoin finance ecosystem.

Borrowers must repay outstanding loans by Nov. 14. Loans left unpaid after that date will face collateral liquidation, with proceeds used to repay lenders.

Users have until Nov. 19 at 6:59 p.m. ET (23:59 UTC) to repay, withdraw assets and unstake. After the cutoff, remaining positions will enter liquidation and settlement, while the Aptos-to-B² bridge will continue to support redemptions for aBTC holders. The time needed to claim strategy and liquid-staking assets may depend on underlying staking and unstaking request timelines.
