Cognizant, Google Cloud Back Gemini Group With More Than 18,000 Cognizant Associates
The group will focus on bringing AI agents into production. More than 55,000 Cognizant associates have completed a Build with Gemini workshop.

Cognizant and Google Cloud expanded their AI partnership Monday, Oct. 19, adding a Gemini Frontier Capability Group backed by more than 18,000 Cognizant associates to help businesses put AI agents into production.
The group will initially focus on legacy modernization, developer experience, autonomous business processes and cyber defense. Its planned architecture will use the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Google Cloud’s Model Armor.
At Cognizant, more than 55,000 associates completed a Build with Gemini workshop, building AI agents and applications and earning Gemini skills credentials. The workshop total is separate from the number of associates backing the new group.
The expansion follows Cognizant’s launch of a dedicated Gemini Enterprise practice in April. In July, Cognizant set a target of deploying Gemini Enterprise to 100,000 associates in 2026, with plans to scale to 200,000. Those figures remain deployment goals.
The new framework is expected to support a retail catalog support agent, a healthcare agent marketplace and manufacturing order-to-cash workflows. No rollout dates were given for those tools.
