Funds linked to the Drift Protocol attacker moved into Tornado Cash on Oct. 20, with 25,700 Ether (ETH), worth about $61.6 million, deposited after two months of inactivity.

The deposits took place over about two hours. Afterward, the attacker still held 81,864 ETH, valued at about $195 million. That remaining balance was more than three times the amount deposited, showing that the transfers involved only part of the ETH linked to the attack.

The stolen funds had been valued at more than $270 million while held in ETH. The Oct. 20 transactions moved some of those funds into Tornado Cash, while a much larger ETH balance remained with the attacker. The reported dollar amounts are estimates of the holdings’ value; the ETH amounts show how much cryptocurrency was deposited and how much was still held.

The movement concerns funds linked to the earlier Drift Protocol attack. The two-hour series of deposits ended the reported pause in activity without exhausting the attacker’s ETH holdings.
