Enso CEO Calls for Simpler Trading Across Tokenized Stock Platforms

Enso’s API supports xStocks on Arbitrum, but token rights vary and xStocks products are not available to U.S. residents.

Enso co-founder and CEO Connor Howe called for a simpler way to trade tokenized stocks across providers and blockchains, arguing that investors should not have to choose a token version or network themselves.

In an interview published Oct. 20, Howe described an approach in which an application handles those choices during a trade. Stock-linked tokens can come from different providers and operate on different networks. His proposal focuses on the path a user takes to trade them; each product retains its own terms.

Enso added xStocks access on Arbitrum through its API and Enso RWA App on Oct. 7. Applications already connected to the API can offer that access without building a separate routing and aggregation system. The integration gives those apps an existing route to the product.

Enso’s Actions abstract individual smart-contract transactions, while its Shortcuts combine Actions. Those tools let applications assemble blockchain operations from reusable components. They address how a transaction is carried out, which is one part of the experience Howe wants to simplify.

A common trading route could reduce the steps a user sees, but it would not make every token tied to the same stock equivalent. Tokenized securities can be issued by the company behind a stock or by an unrelated third party. The products can have different structures and give holders different rights.

Stock-linked tokens can give holders different rights, even when tied to the same share. That distinction still matters when products appear in the same application. The route used to reach a token does not establish what its holder owns or may claim.

Eligibility also depends on the product. xStocks products are not available to U.S. residents. An application’s ability to connect to Enso’s infrastructure does not change those restrictions for U.S. users.

Enso separately compares trading quotes with simulated outcomes in its own tests. Those comparisons examine the gap between a quoted result and a simulated one. Routing, product rights, eligibility and quoted outcomes remain distinct questions for any application offering tokenized stocks.
