Zoom Communications, Inc. introduced a context layer at its Oct. 20 Zoomtopia conference to link workplace conversations with company data, extending its AI tools into follow-up tasks across business applications.

The Unified Context Layer is designed to combine information from meetings, calls and chats with company documents and connected apps. AI tools can draw on that context in later tasks. Zoom Chief Product Officer Russell Dicker described what happens after a meeting as the central challenge: “The harder problem, and the one that actually determines whether AI delivers value, is what happens next.”

Available agentic search covers Zoom Meetings, Zoom Phone and Zoom Chat, along with more than 40 third-party applications. ZoomMate Agent Teams divide project work among specialized agents, then combine their results for human review.

Developers can use the newly available Search & Ask APIs to query the context layer. Zoom also released 15 new AI services, covering functions that include conversational voice, real-time interpretation, advanced transcription and speech summarization. The tools span information search, project work and developer access to the shared context.

My Notes Workflows are targeted for October 2026. Customer profiles and Zoom Virtual Agent – Kiosk are targeted for November, while Follow the meeting is targeted for December.

Sensitivity labels are available to select Zoom Workplace customers. Centralized AI management and deepfake risk detection are expected in December 2026, while custom AI guardrails are expected in the first quarter of 2027.
