Zcash Developers Propose Nov. 5 Target for NU7 Mainnet Activation
The upgrade would shorten the target block interval to 25 seconds and direct 60% of transaction fees to a reserve for later issuance.

Zcash (ZEC) developers proposed block 3,543,405 as the mainnet activation height for the network’s NU7 upgrade, targeting around Nov. 5. The proposal has two approvals but remains open, so the target is not a finalized activation date.
The current deployment specification still leaves the mainnet activation height undecided. The proposed block number has not yet been incorporated into the specification or node software.
NU7 would reduce the target interval between blocks from 75 seconds to 25 seconds. It would also direct 60% of transaction fees into a reserve for later issuance.
The upgrade is active on Zcash’s public test network, while its mainnet rollout remains pending. The proposed activation height and target date are the next milestones in the upgrade plan.
