Wallets linked to the April 1 Drift Protocol exploit deposited another 24,885 Ether (ETH), worth about $61.3 million at the time, into Tornado Cash on Oct. 21, extending large transfers into a second day.

The deposits followed a transfer of more than 25,000 ETH on Oct. 20 that came after about two months of inactivity. Together, the two days’ deposits exceeded 50,000 ETH. The tracked wallets still held 56,569 ETH, valued at about $139.3 million when the Oct. 21 deposits were observed.

Tornado Cash allows assets deposited from one Ethereum address to be withdrawn to another, making the connection between those addresses harder to trace.

The April 1 attack drained about $295.7 million in assets from Drift. Drift’s investigation attributed the attack to UNC6862, a North Korean threat group. Claims for the protocol’s DFX recovery token opened Oct. 1, when its recovery pool held about 3.1 million Tether USDt (USDT). Drift has said any funds recovered from the attack would be added to that pool.
