Optimum measured Ethereum block delivery at an average of 2.5 to 3.5 times baseline speed after bringing mump2p to mainnet, giving validators a faster route for network data.

Sixteen node operators were using it across about 1.4 million staked Ether (ETH).

The speed figure describes block delivery to validators, not a change to Ethereum’s consensus rules.

mump2p uses random linear network coding to reduce duplicate data transfers. It runs alongside existing Ethereum clients.

The tool is designed to help validators receive and relay blocks and attestation messages faster without replacing hardware.
