Ethereum is scheduled to activate its Glamsterdam upgrade on the Hoodi testnet Oct. 26 at 1:42:48 p.m. ET (17:42:48 UTC), advancing testing of changes intended to improve the network’s capacity and efficiency.

The Hoodi activation follows Glamsterdam’s Oct. 6 deployment on the Sepolia testnet. Both are test networks; Ethereum has not set a date for the upgrade to reach its mainnet.

Glamsterdam brings together planned changes to Ethereum’s execution and consensus layers. Its principal features include built-in proposer-builder separation, which changes how blocks are assembled and proposed, and block-level access lists. The changes are intended to help the network handle activity more efficiently.

The scheduled Hoodi activation is the next testnet step on Oct. 26. It does not establish a mainnet launch date.
