Zcash (ZEC) traded 12.16% higher in a morning market snapshot as developers moved the proposed NU7 network upgrade toward a Nov. 5 mainnet activation, with block times slated to fall to 25 seconds from 75.

At 8:22 a.m. ET (12:22 UTC) Oct. 21, ZEC was priced at $1,286.58, up 12.16% over 24 hours. A later snapshot at 7:49 p.m. ET (23:49 UTC) showed $1,334.69 and a 5.9% 24-hour gain. The snapshots used different providers and observation windows, limiting direct comparison.

The proposed activation height is 3,543,405, corresponding to an estimated Nov. 5 at 7:50 p.m. ET (Nov. 6 at 00:50 UTC). The specification remains marked proposed, and Zebra synchronization fixes had reached a development branch but not a published release as of Oct. 21.

NU7 would shorten target block spacing to 25 seconds from 75 and disable version 4 transactions. Funds remaining in Sprout, Zcash’s original privacy pool, would become unspendable after activation. The community’s mainnet target is Nov. 5.
