Google Adds Gemini’s Conversational Navigation to Apple CarPlay
A global rollout is underway. Drivers can ask for destinations, toll-avoiding routes and traffic reports by voice.

Gemini's conversational navigation is now available in Google Maps on Apple CarPlay in the United States, expanding voice-based route requests to Apple's in-car interface.
While navigating, drivers can tap the Gemini icon on the car's display and make a multi-step request. For example, they can ask for a place to visit, then request directions there while avoiding toll roads. Gemini can also accept voice reports about traffic disruptions.
A global rollout is underway, but the countries included and timing for expanded access have not been specified.
Google outlined conversational Gemini navigation for Maps on Nov. 5, 2025, naming Android and iOS as platforms and saying Android Auto support was on the way. The current rollout brings the feature to Apple's CarPlay interface.
