Starknet has opened a developer challenge aimed at lowering the gas required for Falcon-512 signatures, which currently cost 48.4 million gas on the Ethereum layer-2 network.

The challenge invites developers to reduce that cost. Falcon-512 is a quantum-safe signature scheme.

A prior experimental mainnet transfer using Falcon-512 cost about 6 cents and used an unaudited experimental wallet. The test did not establish network-wide quantum security.
