Anthropic has opened a limited U.S. research preview of Claude Duet, an AI assistant designed to handle tasks across connected apps while users are away.

The assistant runs on a cloud-based computer and can call apps users connect. It can also deliver a morning briefing each day. Claude Duet asks for user approval before sensitive actions, including sending messages or making payments.

The preview is open to U.S. subscribers on Claude Pro and Max plans, with access through a waitlist. Team and Enterprise plans are not included in this research preview.

Claude Duet is powered by Opus 5.5. Users can access it through standalone apps for iOS and Android or on the web at claude.ai.
