Railway urged all users to rotate their secrets after a security incident, while paused deployments are delaying the application updates needed to put replacement credentials in place. The restriction leaves customers unable to complete the credential change in their apps for now.

The request applies across Railway's user base. For customers whose apps need new credentials, replacing secrets does not finish the update: the changed values must also be deployed. Railway's pause blocks that step, leaving customers unable to push application changes that include the replacement credentials. The change can be applied through those updates once deployments resume.

The restriction puts Railway's security request and its deployment process out of sync. Customers have been asked to change credentials, but their applications cannot yet be updated to use the replacements. The pause therefore delays implementation of the request across customer applications. Deployment availability determines when those updates can be completed for now.
