Nic Carter said individual holders cannot protect their own Bitcoin from quantum attacks and urged them to press developers to act quickly.

Separately, Carter argued that theft of any amount of Bitcoin would leave the asset without value. “If any amount of BTC is stolen, the whole system collapses,” he said.

Carter said personal precautions would not preserve Bitcoin’s value under that scenario. He called on holders to lobby developers to move quickly.
