XRP Ledger Patch Slips to November After Validator Support Falls

Support has recovered to 31 of 35 validators, but the patch needs a fresh two-week activation countdown.

The XRP Ledger’s security patch will now take effect in November after validator support fell to 26 of 35, resetting its two-week activation countdown and pushing it past the window that had been approaching.

Support has since recovered to 31 validators. That increase does not restore time from the earlier countdown: the two-week period must be recalculated, moving activation into November. The patch remains pending despite the higher support count, because the reset changed the timing of the rollout.

The update is intended to address a vulnerability on the XRP Ledger. Before support dipped, the patch was nearing its activation window. The decline to 26 triggered a restart; the later recovery to 31 changed the validator count but did not put the rollout back on its original schedule.

The distinction is between backing now and time already counted toward activation. The security fix still needs a fresh two-week countdown, so the November timing follows the reset rather than the support rebound.
