Louis Mosley, Palantir's executive vice president for the U.K. and Europe, said neither Palantir nor the U.S. government can remotely disable Maven Smart System NATO (MSS NATO), a NATO military command-and-control platform.

Mosley made the statement in a Brussels interview on Oct. 21, 2026. “There are no kill switches. There's no ability for Palantir or the US government to reach in and switch it off,” he said.

NATO and Palantir finalized the system's acquisition for Allied Command Operations on March 25, 2025. The platform reached full technical operational capability on June 22, 2026, and received full security accreditation to operate on NATO's classified network.

MSS NATO connects command-and-control systems across the alliance. It supports large language models, generative AI and machine learning for intelligence fusion, targeting, battlespace awareness, planning and faster decision-making. Supported models include those from France's Mistral AI and Meta; additional models were planned. The NATO platform is separate from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's Maven Warfighter Support System.

Palantir solutions were not deployed within France’s armed forces ministry.

In a separate interview published Oct. 22, Mosley said Europe would have to accept some short-term reliance on U.S. technology. “Europe is going to have to accept some dependency,” he said.
