Cardano’s Dijkstra upgrade has entered public testing, with DijkstraNet open to stake pool operators as Node 11.2 remains under development. The test network gives operators and developers a place to examine software tied to the planned protocol changes before a mainnet hard fork.

DijkstraNet restarted Wednesday, Oct. 21. Intersect invited stake pool operators to join Thursday, Oct. 22. Node 11.2 is expected to bring Dijkstra features to the network, and a move to protocol version 12 is planned once a pre-release is available. As of Friday, Oct. 23, the Cardano Node component for version 11.2 remained in build and review.

The initial Node 11.2 test track does not include Leios. That work is proceeding separately on MusashiNet, which has entered global-scale load and stress testing. Planned Node 11.3 work is intended to bring the Dijkstra and Linear Leios tracks together, so Leios’ absence from the initial 11.2 track does not exclude it from the planned rollout. Earlier coverage of Cardano’s Leios testnet effort described its public testing status.

Opening DijkstraNet is a testing step, not activation of the upgrade on Cardano’s main network. The rollout calls for testing on Preview and Pre-production networks and governance approval before mainnet activation. It lists no date for the mainnet hard fork.
