Smarsh convened its EDGE event in New York on Oct. 22, after an earlier event preview focused on AI governance as financial firms assess AI access to workplace communications.

Coverage from the Rainbow Room was scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (17:00 UTC).

Discussions at EDGE covered four themes involving enterprise AI governance and communications intelligence.

Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) rules still apply to member firms using generative AI. Relevant areas include supervision, communications, recordkeeping and fair dealing.
