Crusoe and Paraguayan developer Araico plan an AI compute project near the Itaipú substation, with an initial deployment planned for mid-2027.

The project has a path to 106 MW of IT capacity. The project also has options to expand to about 280 MW, but the announcement provided no timetable for reaching that larger capacity.

Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau said the project could become the largest private foreign investment in Paraguayan history. Crusoe and Araico did not disclose an investment amount.

The announcement describes a planned project. Mid-2027 is the target for its initial deployment; the larger capacity remains an expansion option.
