Utexo Opens USDT Testing on Bitcoin Signet Ahead of Nov. 28 Launch
Approved institutions can test minting, private transfers and redemption through RGB. Lightning Network support is planned for the first quarter of 2027.

Utexo has opened Mint to approved institutions testing the minting, transfer and redemption of Tether USDt (USDT) on Bitcoin’s Signet test network, ahead of a planned public rollout through partner wallets and exchanges.
The platform is open to exchanges, wallet providers and market makers. Testing runs through the RGB protocol, and Utexo plans to launch publicly through partner wallets and exchanges on Nov. 28.
Utexo’s bridge is designed to keep transaction details confidential while allowing selective disclosure for regulatory compliance. The company plans to add support for the Lightning Network in the first quarter of 2027, enabling near-instant payments.
Utexo is developing payment infrastructure that combines Bitcoin (BTC), Lightning and RGB, with application programming interfaces and software development kits for payment operators. Tether co-led Utexo’s $7.5 million seed round in March 2026 with Big Brain Holdings and Portal Ventures.
The two companies are pursuing separate technical approaches for Bitcoin-based USDT settlement: Tether’s effort centers on Taproot Assets and Lightning, while Utexo’s uses RGB, part of the projects’ separate plans for USDT on Bitcoin.
