Apple’s first foldable iPhone arrived at Apple Store locations worldwide Friday, Oct. 23, as the company began retail demonstrations of its $1,999 device for U.S. customers.

Customers filled Apple Store locations for launch demonstrations. The iPhone Duo has a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer display.

“Well, I think you saw the pre-order demand last week was extraordinary,” Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said in an interview published Oct. 22. Joswiak said Apple had not shipped all units through preorders and had devices available in stores.

Apple’s launch update did not include a preorder count or unit-sales figure. The phone’s U.S. preorder opening was Oct. 16, and the 256GB model starts at $1,999.

Apple scheduled availability in more than 70 countries and regions on Oct. 23, with 28 other countries and regions set for Oct. 30.
