Lido Launches 0x02 Staking Module With 2,048 ETH Validator Limit
Operators post a bond while the Lido protocol allocates the remaining stake. The initial allocation is capped at 0.01% of Lido Core’s total value locked.

Lido has launched its 0x02 Community Staking Module, allowing node operators to run validators without Lido’s permission and reach an effective balance of up to 2,048 Ether (ETH).
Operators must post a 32 ETH bond for their first validator key and 30 ETH for each additional key. The Lido protocol allocates the remaining stake, so operators do not need to fund a validator’s full balance.
At 2,048 ETH in effective balance, the operator capital multiplier is about 2.18 to 2.26 times that of independent staking. The initial allocation is capped at 0.01% of Lido Core’s total value locked, a limit expected to support initial deposits for about 32 validator keys. The allocation is expected to expand over time.
The existing 0x01 Community Staking Module will continue operating alongside 0x02, and current operators do not need to switch. The launch had been expected in October 2026, following earlier coverage of the 0x02 CSM launch timeline.
