Derive Published 43,082 Data Blobs to Celestia by Oct. 23
The data supports reconstruction of exchange state for settlement and withdrawals. Derive has used Celestia since January 2024.

By Oct. 23, Derive had posted 43,082 data blobs totaling 42.52 GiB to Celestia since January 2024, a period that began before its V3 exchange launched on Oct. 7.
Derive has used Celestia since January 2024. In V3, it publishes state data to the network so the exchange’s state can be reconstructed for settlement and withdrawals.
V3 keeps collateral in Ethereum contracts, matches orders offchain and processes settlement through a zero-knowledge virtual machine. Ethereum verifies the resulting proofs while Celestia carries the state data. The design includes an Ethereum Layer 1 escape hatch if the operator stops processing withdrawals, though access depends on governance and security-council assumptions.
Derive CTO Josh Kim said Celestia offered “the highest potential scale, economic predictability and infrastructure maturity.” He also said integrating Celestia’s client into Derive’s zkVM program was simpler than expected.
The V3 launch on Oct. 7 shifted Derive to Ethereum-based custody and settlement.
