Polkadot (DOT) shortened nominators’ unbonding period from 28 days to two eras, or about two days, when Referendum 1910 took effect July 6. The change gives withdrawal requests made after the upgrade a shorter timeline.

Requests already underway when the upgrade took effect remained on the former 28-day schedule. The referendum followed a change that removed nominators from slashing liability while leaving validators subject to slashing rules.

PAPI Rescue warned on June 30 that the shorter period could leave less time to help users with compromised wallets.
