Lightning Labs has opened Wavelength to all users, giving AI agents a way to send and receive Bitcoin (BTC) on the Bitcoin mainnet through the Lightning Network and L402 without human approval for each transaction.

Agents can use the toolkit to pay API fees, buy data and transact with other agents. Individual fees can be less than 1 cent. Each wallet starts with a 300,000-satoshi limit, and Wavelength charges a 0.25% service fee on Lightning payments.

Developers can add payments to applications without running Lightning nodes, managing channels or arranging liquidity. The self-custodial toolkit also supports independent on-chain exits.

Wavelength remains in alpha, and stablecoin support is planned.
