Blast’s official Ethereum bridge held about $40.41 million in assets as the network’s standard withdrawal cutoff arrived Oct. 26, leaving users facing a more technical route after the deadline.

The balance was down from about $63.5 million on Oct. 2, a decline of roughly 36%. Blast announced its plan to wind down the Ethereum Layer 2 network that day, saying operating costs exceeded revenue and it saw no credible path to sustainability.

Blast set Oct. 26 as the last day to use its regular withdrawal interface. Its website displayed a withdrawal option on Oct. 26. After Oct. 26, assets remain withdrawable, but users must interact directly with Blast’s bridge contracts on Ethereum.

The process starts with a withdrawal transaction on Blast. Once the corresponding record reaches Ethereum, users submit proof through the OptimismPortal contract, wait through a one-day challenge period and execute a final transaction. Blast has published contract-level withdrawal guides for Ether (ETH), USDB and its BLAST token.

The next step for holders withdrawing after Oct. 26 is to use that contract process instead of the standard interface.
