Ledger Atom’s Physical Switch Cuts Camera and Microphone Power

Ledger says the Secure Bar displays the switch’s position and Secure Mode keeps both sensors unpowered regardless of its setting.

Ledger is accepting reservations for the Ledger Atom Founders Edition. The device has a physical control that interrupts power to its camera and microphone at the circuit level.

Ledger says apps, malware and remote attackers cannot reactivate either sensor while the switch is off. An indicator called the Secure Bar shows the switch’s position.

The company says both sensors remain unpowered in Secure Mode regardless of the physical switch’s setting. That means the sensors stay without power in that mode even if the switch position changes.

Ledger previously introduced Atom with Android app access and a separate hardware-isolated mode for crypto approvals, as described in TokenPost’s earlier coverage of the device.
