Instagram Tests 90-Minute Horizontal Videos in Features Format
Some creators in Brazil have tested the format, while Instagram has begun a small U.S. test. Reels can link viewers to longer videos.

Instagram is testing horizontal videos up to 90 minutes long in a small U.S. rollout of Features, a format that lets creators connect its short Reels with longer videos.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced the test Monday, Oct. 26, in a video conversation with Tessa Lyons, the company’s vice president of product. “For a long time, I have been against doing long-form video on Instagram,” Mosseri said. Lyons said, “Reels is still going to be a core part of Instagram.”
Some creators in Brazil have been testing Features. In the test, a Reel can link viewers to a longer video. Instagram is also testing ways to group Reels into series on creator profiles and make live videos easier to find.
Meta said in June it was testing a dedicated home for horizontal videos on Instagram for TV and exploring longer creator videos for television. A U.S. App Store listing for Instagram on Apple TV also shows compatibility with Apple’s streaming device, but does not establish when it began.
Meta has not announced a long-term payment model for Features. Potential sources of creator income under consideration include brands, fans and Instagram, with performance-based incentives among the options.
