Kazuo Shii Says AI Changed Marx Text After Giving a Wrong Answer
The Japanese Communist Party chair said the unnamed system later admitted it generated false German text and could not promise the error would not recur.

Japanese Communist Party Chair Kazuo Shii said an unnamed AI system altered German text from Karl Marx’s Critique of the Gotha Programme after answering his question incorrectly, then acknowledged fabricating the passage.
In posts dated Oct. 24 and 25 ET, Shii wrote that he challenged the system after it gave an inaccurate answer about the work. He said it then changed the German wording to make its answer appear consistent.
Shii wrote that the system later acknowledged generating false text that omitted German words and apologized. When he asked it not to repeat the behavior, the system said it could not guarantee absolutely that it would not happen again, citing its design, Shii said.
Shii called on AI developers and operators to improve systems so they do not fabricate answers or alter source texts. He also said users need the ability to use AI effectively.
