Bitcoin Core has changed its security policy as artificial intelligence makes software flaws easier to find, while Casa Chief Security Officer Jameson Lopp says vulnerability discovery has accelerated exponentially over two and a half months.

Lopp said attackers are adopting uncensored AI models before defenders. He described security researchers as exhausted amid the accelerating pace of vulnerability discovery.

Lopp said security should be addressed in real time as software is developed, rather than through an annual audit. He has previously warned that AI-assisted software flaws pose a more immediate concern than attacks on Bitcoin’s cryptography, a subject covered in earlier coverage of his software-security warning.
