Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) plans to bring HPE Networking EdgeConnect into HPE Mist during 2026 and HPE Aruba Central in the first half of 2027, linking management of wide-area, wired and wireless networks.

HPE announced the plan Oct. 27, setting separate availability windows for its two networking management platforms. The rollout is intended to connect operations across network domains through a shared management framework.

EdgeConnect combines software-defined wide-area networking (SD-WAN) with Security Service Edge (SSE) in a secure access service edge (SASE) offering. The combination connects branch locations and employees to applications through networking and security functions.

The planned integration will give existing Mist and HPE Aruba Central customers access to application-aware routing, WAN optimization and integrated security. These capabilities will extend EdgeConnect functions into the platforms customers use to manage wired and wireless networks.

In HPE Mist, WAN Assurance will aggregate EdgeConnect telemetry. WAN Insights will display link utilization, latency, jitter and packet loss, giving network teams views of those measures alongside their existing operations.

The integration will also connect EdgeConnect with Marvis, HPE’s AI engine and assistant. Marvis will extend cross-domain insights and recommended actions. Marvis’s Large Experience Model is designed to anticipate application issues and help prevent them for services such as Zoom and Teams.

HPE Aruba Central views are planned to cover device health, connectivity, alerts, clients, routing, tunnels and WAN interfaces. Some day-one configurations will still use Aruba Central Orchestrator, while full EdgeConnect management through Mist and HPE Aruba Central remains the goal.

“Enterprise networks have become too complex to manage through isolated tools and domains,” said David Hughes, HPE’s senior vice president and general manager of SASE and Security for Networking.
