ENS Launches ENSv2 on Ethereum Mainnet With Per-Domain Registries
Existing .eth names will keep working without re-registration. Users can choose to upgrade eligible names through the ENS App.

ENS has launched ENSv2 on Ethereum mainnet, adding per-domain registries and finer permissions that let communities and organizations set subdomain rules and manage access separately.
In ENSv2, each domain can operate as its own onchain registry, allowing communities and organizations to set subdomain issuance rules and delegate permissions by area. The upgrade also changes name resolution and supports sharing links to records.
Existing .eth names will continue to work without re-registration. The release includes a new ENS App for general users and ENS Explorer for developers. 1inch, MetaMask, Safe, Uniswap, PayPal, Venmo and OpenSea are adapting their services for ENSv2.
The ENS ecosystem supports more than 36 million names across more than 600 apps. Users who upgrade all eligible names can claim a commemorative NFT designed by Polyhop, limited to one per wallet; an Ethereum network gas fee applies. Users can choose to upgrade eligible names in the ENS App starting Oct. 27.
