Apple Details AI Assistants for Pages, Keynote and Numbers
The beta tools are part of a November Apple Creator Studio update. External AI agents will also be able to work with the apps on Macs running macOS 27 or later.

Apple detailed plans Oct. 27 for beta AI assistants in Pages, Keynote and Numbers, bringing tools that work with the open file to subscribers of its Apple Creator Studio service in a November update.
The assistants will use Apple models and OpenAI. In Keynote, they can help shape slide designs, add animation and polish presentations. Pages users can get help drafting and reorganizing text. In Numbers, the assistant can run calculations, arrange data, recommend charts and create custom tables.
Apple also plans to add Model Context Protocol (MCP) support to the three apps. The feature will let external AI agents and tools read content, change files and carry out automated actions. MCP support requires macOS 27 or later.
The beta requires an Apple Intelligence-capable device running iOS 27, iPadOS 27 or macOS 27 or later. It supports U.S. English. Version 15.4.2 release notes describe Intelligent Assistant as a beta feature for subscribers in the U.S. apps.
The assistant is a paid feature, while the apps remain free for creating and editing files. Existing Apple Creator Studio subscribers will get the update at no extra charge. New U.S. subscribers pay $12.99 per month or $129 per year.
The broader Creator Studio update will also include stock video and new premium themes and templates. Apple has not specified a November release date beyond the month.
