Firebird estimates its planned AI data center at Data Center Valley in Ekibastuz, Kazakhstan, will require $5 billion, with the first phase sized for up to 109 megawatts of capacity.

Kazakhtelecom is building the first phase with Firebird, which expects commercial operations to begin in the third quarter of 2027. Firebird plans to reserve at least a tenth of its GPU capacity for companies and government agencies in Kazakhstan.

The project is part of Kazakhstan’s $10 billion AI package. The broader national plan includes a 100,000-GPU cluster, a target that covers more than Firebird’s first phase.
