EMURGO and Yoroi plan to deregister their Cardano delegated representative (DRep) roles Nov. 30, requiring affected users to redelegate to another active DRep to retain governance participation and staking reward withdrawals.

EMURGO, a Cardano developer, announced the planned deregistration. Yoroi is a crypto wallet app. A DRep is an on-chain governance role introduced during Cardano’s Voltaire phase.

Users delegated to either DRep need to redelegate to another active DRep before Nov. 30. EMURGO recommended considering consistent voting records, public explanations, accountability to delegators and a long-term commitment to Cardano. EMURGO also recommended business and technical expertise and a balanced, practical approach.

The Nov. 30 date could be extended if special circumstances arise.
