Putin Says Russia Remains in Contact With Musk on Satellite Systems

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Oct. 28 that Russia remains in contact with SpaceX founder Elon Musk about low-Earth-orbit satellite systems, which support internet and communications services.

Putin said the contact has continued despite political tensions and called Musk a “man of genius.” He did not specify whether the contact involved Starlink or another satellite project, or provide details about the discussions.

Starlink is among the best-known low-Earth-orbit satellite networks. Putin’s remarks did not establish whether it was part of the contact.
