Mistral Opens Responses API Preview for Developers Building AI Agents

The API returns answers, reasoning and tool calls as separate items. It supports Mistral’s hosted chat models, including Large 4.

Mistral AI opened a public preview of an API for developers building agents with its chat models, giving applications separate outputs for model replies, reasoning and tool calls.

The Responses API presents those elements as distinct items that an application can handle individually. It supports all chat models hosted by Mistral, including Large 4.

The preview follows the company’s Oct. 20 introduction of the Voxtral 3 suite alongside a voice-agent API. The Voxtral 3 voice-agent API launch included pricing details.
