AlphaToken has issued XAUa, a gold-backed token now available on Sui, where transfer checks can block transactions that do not meet the issuer’s compliance rules.

Physical gold stored in Hong Kong backs each token. Buyers and holders must meet eligibility requirements, while TBook handles distribution to on-chain users. AlphaToken is the issuer, and TBook manages distribution.

XAUa uses Sui’s Permissioned Asset Standard (PAS), which lets the issuer put compliance rules in a policy. That policy checks each transfer before it settles. If a transfer fails the check, it is rejected and balances remain unchanged.

TBook has also rebuilt its vault issuance platform on PAS. Future real-world asset issuers can use the platform to issue vaults directly on Sui with similar compliance controls.
